Give It A Shot!
Boys and Girls ages 5-12 are invited to try the fun and exciting sport of ice hockey! Sundays July 12-August 2 8:20am-9:20am. Please arrive early for dressing and registration. This event is FREE! Equipment and skates for this event are provided at NO CHARGE. (You must reserve your spot in advanced by emailing Nelson Burton).

From MD Rt-3: South on MD Rt-3 (six miles south of Glen Burnie) To Waugh Chapel Rd. Right on Waugh Chapel Rd. (follow Waugh Chapel to the sixth traffic light) to Piney Orchard Parkway South. Ice arena is one mile from intersection, on the left.
From Northern Virginia & the DC area

From Rt-32 Eastbound: East on Rt-32 to Rt-175 East, take Route 170 South (Telegraph Road turns into Piney Orchard Parkway). Ice arena is 2.5 miles from intersection, on the left.
From Bowie & Crofton

Piney Orchard Figure Skating Team
The Piney Orchard Figure Skating Team was formed in 1997 and has been promoting figure skating at all levels in and around the West Anne Arundel County. The POFST mission statement is simple:
"to build confidence and unity in our skaters through an atmosphere of active support both on and off the ice"
The team's home is the Piney Orchard Ice Arena in Odenton, Maryland and team members compete in local, regional, and national competitions through the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). Skaters participate and compete in a variety of events, ranging from traditional figure skating and ice dancing to synchronized skating.
There is no age limit to join the team and membership is open to all figure skaters, parents and siblings of skaters, figure skating coaches and all others who support the sport. Membership is $15.00 per year for the first skater or a family fee of $25.00 for the whole family. The team year runs October 1st thru September 30th.
